Week 1- Calibrating and Profiling a Monitor

Using the following steps with the i1 calibration device and the Eye-One Match program software, we can successfully calibrate our monitor.
  • Careful choose a monitor type (for this we choose LCD)
  • Calibration settings- white points: medium white (6500)- gamma 2.2 (recommended) -lumance  1.20 LCD
  • Calibrate lumance.
  • Ambient light check. 
  • Remove ambient light head.
  • Position eye on screen, with the weight over the back of the monitor. 
  • Set contrast to 100% on monitor.
  • Calibrate RGB.
  • Calibrate brightness.
  • Save ICC name as "Yourname_monitor_whateverthedateis.ICC)
  • Click the right arrow to save.

As you can see there is a large difference in the colours on the left. You can only really notice the other changes in both the before and after images, after looking at them a while.
